Kristine Heykants uses photography combined with expressionism and realism to unearth the humanity connecting us all, searching for beauty in the familiar and everyday. Born in Iowa City, she received an MA in Journalism and Mass Communications from the University of Iowa. She is a recipient of grants from the Jerome Foundation, McKnight Foundation and Minnesota State Arts Board, and has exhibited work around the country. She is a long-time resident of Minneapolis.
