Kristine Heykants uses photography to reveal the authenticity of her subject matter, fulfilling a desire to unearth the humanity that connects us all. Through narrative and conceptual storytelling she makes sense of the human experience, while searching for beauty in the familiar and mundane. Women’s roles, domesticity and sources of neo-classical architecture are recurring themes in her personal projects. Born in Iowa City, Iowa, for the past 20 years she has lived in Minneapolis. Her work is represented by Davis Orton Editions (Hudson, NY), and Art Force (Minneapolis).
